iPad apps: not just for quiet time - let’s get talking!

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

In this workshop we will dive into a new way of approaching apps for young learners (PreK-3rd) by enriching them with your personal and educated dialogue! School Fuel is a program dedicated to equipping both adults and children with the tools to embrace the digital age in a mindful, successful way. School Fuel curates bundles of the most educational apps there are, suggests tips, tricks and best practices for balancing screen time as well as placing emphasis on parent/child & teacher/child dialogue during play known as the iii Model.

In this session we will examine and practice conversations around apps using the iii Model of dialogue to help jumpstart our minds to play with students and make each experience an educational and rewarding one. The iii Model uses three discrete strategies: Introducing, Interacting and Integrating past and previous knowledge to increase their learning and school readiness. Through discussions and a hands on workshop with iPads we will compare the solitary play our students have vs. the iii Model way to prepare students, parents and teachers to thrive in the 21st Century.
